I am making up a story. A story that allows me to dream.

The city has a specific building system. It consists of blocks of buildings surrounded by a road network. The buildings of each block create an interior courtyard. I suggest that during the creation of the city something unidentified takes place and this construction system changes. There are no roads anymore. There are only interior courtyards and the buildings that design them. All doors open up to those particular spaces.
